We offer Bachelor of Design degree in Multimedia and Game Design which include Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Animation Design and game Design. We also encourage practical-oriented research project so that students could seamlessly with  industry in the future and on the  practical application of a variety of innovative contributions. 

Over these fifteen years, the advance in digital technology has radically changed our lives, bringing about digital innovations in culture, art, education and entertainment. 

New needs and immeasurable commercial values are consequently created, giving rise to the emergence of multimedia digital industries, which are currently at the cutting edge. Among them, the digital game alone is estimated to raise yearly revenue up to tens of billion. Confronted by multiple issues like cultural content, information technology and market planning, the burgeoning digital game business is in urgent need of manpower with interdisciplinary talents to cope with these challenges.

Breaking the conventional disciplinary differentiations, our department is characterized by an industry-oriented educational policy. We aim to cultivate multi-talented workforces with hands- on experience and interdisciplinary knowledge. The undergraduate program targets at fostering workforces with practice experiences so as to better the quantity and quality of manpower in Taiwan’s digital content industry.

The Department of Multimedia and Game Design(MGD) has well contained facilities and strong faculty with leading expertise. In pursuit of the goals of both in the educational cultivation and the research innovation, we are cooperating effectively with the industrial in the central Taiwan. In the future, MGD will continue to advance on the following three visions :

1. Providing all kinds of industries’ extension learning   opportunities with MGD.
2. Developing into a leading-class center of applied research in the digital game industry.
3. Promoting a variety of International Cooperation and Academic Exchange with universities abroad.


The four-year undergraduate program courses are offered in three levels: Elementary, Advanced and Professional, and Interdisciplinary Projects. The elementary level courses are designed in the first and second years, the courses such as Game Design Introduction, Design Drawing, Software Programming, Graphic Design, and Digital Music Introduction were offered to foster students’ basic theoretical knowledge. And the advance and professional level is designed in second and third years, the courses are designed in four fields: 3D Animation Design, Game Programming Design, Digital Audio and Video Design, and interactive Game Design. These courses are offered not only for required-elective credits to meet students’ multi-interests, but also for fostering student’s professional skills. Interdisciplinary projects level is designed to educate students the abilities of team work in multimedia and game industry. Through the courses offered, such as Market Survey and Product Planning, Software Programming, Arts Design, and Audio and Video Design, students in the final year will prepare to have a career with the professional and sufficient team work abilities in the digital game industry.

 

In addition to theoretical basis for our graduates, students will acquire skills necessary to become professionals in the following career :

Digital Game Industry: game planning designer, programming designer, 2D/3D game designer, and game testing/ quality control personnel.
Audio and Video Industry: interactive media designer, sound effect designer, music composer, digital art designer, video photographer, non-linear editor, and special effect synthesis designer.

Internet Programmer: computer graphic designer, animation
designer, web page designer, website programmer, multimedia designer, and e-commerce Internet programmer.
